The collections of the Sports Archives are open free of charge for researchers and everyone interested in Finnish sports.

The documents can be studied in the premises of the Sports Library during its opening hours (Monday to Wednesday and Friday 8 am - 5 pm, Thursday 8 am - 7 pm, Saturday 12 - 4 pm). However, orders for all archive materials should be made during the opening hours of the Sports Archives. The entrance to the Sports Library is through the backdoor of the Sports Museum (facing the Ice Arena).

The personnel of the Sports Archives provides assistance in questions concerning research use of the documents in co-operation with the Finnish Society for Sports History.

Documents can be photocopied or lent out to provincial archives or, by special agreement, to other archives. The personnel of the Sports Archives will also retrieve information from the collections by order. More extensive research assignments are subject to a charge (see Price List).
